Holiday Gifts for Pet Sitters

It’s the holiday season and many clients like to give a little something to their pet sitter this time of year. Holiday gifting is quite common in the pet sitting industry, as it is in most service-based industries. The question of what to get a pet sitter is often top of mind. To take the guesswork out of holiday gifts for pet sitters, here’s a wish list of sorts to lead you in the right direction.

Cash

While it can seem impersonal, cash is always a good idea. Any sum of cash is always welcome, especially these days when prices are climbing everywhere.

Gift Cards

Giving a gift card often feels more personal than cash because the card itself can be personalized and the store can be chosen based on the pet sitter’s preferences. Popular gift card options for busy pet sitters include Amazon, Target, Starbucks, and fast food chains. Uber Eats, Instacart, or similar grocery and food delivery services also make practical gifts. Because dog walkers and pet sitters are always on the go, gift cards to retailers and restaurants located near your service area are a great way to support the local economy and make it easy for your service provider to use.

Toiletries & Spa Gifts

Dog walkers and pet sitters are out in the elements all day, every day. If you have a favorite product or service you’d like to share, consider giving your favorite service provider a specialty hand cream, a gift card for a manicure and/or pedicure, or a basket with travel-sized natural toiletry products that they can keep in their car. Especially for those doing overnight pet sits, a gift set could make packing for overnights that much easier.

Movie Tickets

Another great way to pamper your pet sitter is to give them a gift certificate to a local movie theater where they can rest and relax between visits or on their day off. Now that movie theaters offer reclining seats and full restaurants, a movie is a perfect place for Shoreline CT pet sitters and dog walkers to take refuge from winter weather and recover after long days outdoors.

Local Businesses

As a local business, we love to support other local businesses. If you know and love a business in the CT Shoreline and River Valley area of Connecticut, please consider purchasing a gift certificate or gift from a local business so that, together, we can support our local economy. Whether a local coffee shop, plant nursery, or boutique, we welcome the opportunity to connect with local vendors and establishments.

While all the above gift ideas would be more than welcome by our team, the greatest gift you can give us is trusting us with your pets’ care. We are beyond grateful for the opportunity to spend time with them, care for them, and do this work that we so love. Please do not feel that we are expecting gifts from you this time of year. Your appreciation is felt when you continue to schedule services with us, send us a nice note, and/or review us online. We recognize that times are tough right now therefore please know that gifting is always optional and, when possible, very much appreciated. We thank you for your support and generosity.
