Shoreline Happy Paws is a team-based company. When you hire our company, you get a team of professionally trained pet sitters and dog walkers. Our clients are assigned a primary pet sitter. The team rallies around them in the case of an injury, illness, or emergency. Because Life can throw unexpected things our way, the benefits of hiring a pet sitting team are endless. Today, we’ll list our top five benefits of hiring a pet sitting team over a solo sitter.
Planning & Preparation
We have all fallen ill during demanding work seasons. We’ve all been in a car accident or experienced a flat tire. The unexpected is bound to happen, even if it is rare.
A solo or hobby pet sitter, may not recover from the unexpected as a team-based operation can. Here’s a post we shared about the difference between a hobby pet sitter and an operation like ours. We operate with the expectation that things can go wrong, and we plan accordingly. Our team works together to ensure that pets in our care get the visits they need no matter what goes wrong.
Cross-Training
After providing pet care services in the Connecticut Shoreline for over 12 years, we have learned the importance of cross-trining our team. No, we don’t mean cross-training them in fitness terms, though our jobs certainly allow for a variety of calorie-burning activities. By cross-training we mean that we train our team members outside their immediate roles and responsibilities. For example, we have team members that mostly perform midday dog walking duties, but they are trained to do dog hikes and cat sits in case we need them to step in and care for pets that are not usually on their schedule.
Our employees undergo thorough on-the-job and online training to ensure that they understand our technology, are familiar with the pets in their care, and are prepared to step in should we need their help with a new – to them – fur client. No matter what the job demands, our team members are trained to rise to the occasion.
Teamwork & Dedication
We recognize that consistency is key when providing outstanding pet care services. Each of our clients is assigned 1 or 2 primary sitters who will perform the vast majority of scheduled services. Consistency keeps pets at ease and helps them develop a bond with their care provider. Primary and secondary dog walkers and pet sitters back each other up. They get to know each other’s clients so that they may seamlessly step for one another. We refer to this internally as our ‘buddy system.’
At Shoreline Happy Paws, we hire only the most dedicated pet sitters and dog walkers. Our employees recognize the importance of the work that we do. They are also committed to coming together when their help is needed outside of their immediate service area.
Internal Resolution
Should your primary or secondary pet sitter not be available for the date/time requested or as a result of an emergency, one of our other highly trained and vetted employees will step in. They deliver the same quality care you and your pet have become accustomed to while working with our company; we’ve designed it that way.
Most pet parents don’t realize the benefits of having a team-based pet sitting service until they are in a bind. Imagine the inconvenience and stress that a service interruption would mean during meetings, events, or travel. We won’t interrupt your workday or vacation unless a situation merits your immediate attention such as in the case of a pet-related illness, injury, or emergency.
Systems & Processes
At Shoreline Happy Paws, we move mountains to ensure that the pets in our care always receive the highest quality care per their visit schedule. If I’ve learned anything since 2010, it’s that systems and processes are critical to providing exceptional service. As a team-based pet sitting operation, we strive to respond to the unexpected with positivity, professionalism, and efficiency. You can count on us to be there when you need us. Our team takes pride in our reliability and resilience, even in the worst-case scenario.
