Did you know that dog hiking adventures are our most popular service in the CT Shoreline? Our clients love to make their dog’s day with this great alternative to doggie daycare!

Convenient

We encourage dogs of all ages to join us for adventures! Whether on the trails or beach, they can explore all kinds of smells and sounds, get plenty of exercise and potty opportunities, have lots of playtime with hiking friends, and enrich their daily life.

The best part for dog parents is that you don’t have to figure out how to make time for such adventures. We handle them for you while you’re at work, picking dogs up and dropping them off for their outing.

Fun

It’s no secret that dogs love the outdoors. The unfortunate reality, however, is that most pet parents don’t have the time to give our dogs regular romps with nature. For this reason, we at Shoreline Happy Paws make sure our adventures are fun for all participants. We work together to ensure that dog-on-dog dynamics remain positive and that each dog explores at a comfortable pace. We are also careful to read dogs’ body language to ensure that all their needs are being met. Because of our extensive experience, we know when to keep going and when to wrap things up, ensuring we all have just the right amount of fun.

Here are 10 reasons hiking is great for humans and dogs from Backpacker.com.

Our Dog Hiking Adventure service is available from Old Saybrook, Essex, Ivoryton, Centerbrook, Deep River, Chester, Westbrook, Clinton, Old Lyme, East Lyme, and Niantic. We also cater to parts of Lyme, Madison, Killingworth, and Haddam.

Our newly added areas include Waterford, Groton, Uncasville, Gales Ferry, New London, Mystic & Noank.

Safe

Because every dog has its particular needs, we offer both group and private hiking adventures. As an added safety measure, dogs are leashed at all times unless otherwise requested. To be allowed off-leash, dogs must be safety-tested by one of our highly experienced professional dog walkers.

Dog hikes are scheduled at a time of day during which dogs will be most comfortable outdoors. All dogs should be on flea and tick deterrents before their adventures and are checked for ticks upon return. We provide frequent hydration breaks and belly-safe treats to ensure the dogs in our care are both enjoying their outing and remaining safe during the experience.

Because our team is trained in Pet First Aid & CPR, your dogs really couldn’t be in better hands during their adventure.

Social

Dogs need social interaction with humans and other dogs. Our goal is that the social interaction dogs experience during our adventures be both safe and positive. For this reason, we encourage group hikes and consistency. We encourage you to schedule your dogs at least twice a week to be included in a group.
